NEXT LIFE

We got married in a heartbeat

We were young and in love

The world at our feet

But the best laid plans

They can slip like sand

Through your fingers

‘fore you know it

All gone

But now we’re ready for our next life

Yeah, the best life.. (we never had)

We had it coming

Keep the motor running

To the next life

The best life

Woohoo!!

Seems so hard to remember

Just the two of us together

‘Cos the kids came fast

And the years flew past

In a moment

‘fore you know it

All gone

And now we’re ready for our next life

Yeah, the best life.. (we never had)

We had it coming

Keep the motor running

To the next life

The best life

Woohoo!!

Time goes by

Blink of an eye

But now we’re ready for our next life

Yeah, the best life (we never had)

We had it coming

Keep the motor running

To the next life

The best life

Woohoo!!

RAINING ON MY WEDDING DAY

If I could paint a picture

The clouds would fill the page

With darkness and doubt

I couldn’t feel the sunshine

Like a bird trapped in a cage

And now there’s no way out

You said you’d always love me

Rain, hail, or shine

My heart was screamin’ this ain’t right

I should have changed my mind

All the guests are waiting

And the band’s about to play

But it’s raining on my wedding day

The pain of hurting someone else

Seemed way too hard to face

But I hurt even more

I felt like nobody listened

My fears were all misplaced

But I just can’t ignore

You said you’d always love me

Rain, hail, or shine

My heart was screamin’ let me out

I’m running out of time

The families are waiting

As the preacher starts to pray

But it’s raining

On my wedding day

I can’t get off this train

I should have left you at the altar

‘Cause I already see

This was never meant to be

You said you’d always love me

Rain, hail, or shine

My heart was screamin’ let me out

I’m running out of time

The families are waiting

As the preacher starts to pray

But it’s raining, it’s still raining

On my wedding day

SHE SAID WHAT?

She said what?  She said who?

Aint she got nothing better to do?

Than put her nose in someone else’s business all of the time

I said how would she feel

If the shoe was on her end of the deal?

I can guarantee she aint gonna like it being under the wheel

She’s got a mouth like an airplane hanger

With the doors wide open every day and night

She aint happy less she’s bitchin’ yappin’ in the kitchen

Puttin’ every wrong to right

I got stuff, I got dirt

And when it gets on her it’s gonna hurt

She’s gonna wish she never started

I’ll kick her where the sun don’t shine

She said this, she said that, I bet she even called me fat!

If I’m the pot then she’s the kettle

I’ll teach her not to meddle in mine

She’s just a dirty rotten big mouth, livin in a glass house

Girl, it’s just a matter of time

Before I get to throwin, stones like it’s snowin

She’s finally reached the end of my line

She said what?

MUST HAVE BEEN THE WINE

What were we thinking?

You and me drinking

Both of us working on a broken heart

We shoulda known better

Two of us together

How we gonna finish something we don’t want to start

Must have been the wine, can’t have been that kiss

Couldn’t have been the moonlight in our eyes

Got us feeling like this

Cos this aint the right place, and it’s sure not the time

Yeah, it must have been the wine

Feeling kind of awkward

Seeming like we both should pack up all our things

And walk straight outta this room now

Cos this aint gonna end right

Shoulda called it last night instead of trying to forget about it somehow

Must have been the wine, can’t have been that kiss

Couldn’t have been the moonlight in our eyes

Got us feeling like this

Cos this aint the right place, and it’s sure not the time

Yeah it must have been the wine

Gonna take some nights to drink us off our minds

Coulda, shoulda, woulda been but not this time

Must have been the wine, can’t have been that kiss

Couldn’t have been the moonlight in our eyes

Got us feeling like this

Cos this aint the right place, and it’s sure not the time

Yeah it must have been the wine

ROLL OF A DICE

You can count on your luck but not too much

Turn to gold everything you touch

You can fly so high without looking down

’Til you forget what it’s like to be on the ground

But if the voices in your head start you spinning

Whatcha gonna do

Drive that car

Cross that road

You just don’t know

What the future holds

It’s right there out of reach

No use losing sleep

Play the cards you’re holdin’

No turning back, no folding

Don’t think twice

‘Cos it could all just change with the roll of a dice

You can walk through life with your eyes half-shut

Or stay at home ‘cos it’s all too much

Too scared of the world to walk out the door

But if it’s not open, what’s it for?

And when the voices in your head get too loud

You know what to do

Drive that car

Cross that road

You just don’t know

What the future holds

It’s right there out of reach

No use losing sleep

Play the cards you’re holdin’

No turning back, no folding

Don’t think twice

'Cos it could all just change with the roll of a dice

Drive that car

Cross that road

You don’t know

What the future holds

It’s right there out of reach

No use losing sleep

Play the cards you’re holdin’

No turning back, no folding

Don’t think twice

‘Cos it could all just change with the roll of a dice

LONG AS YOU'RE LONELY

As long as you’re lonely baby

As long as you’re feeling blue

I don’t care if I’m here and you’re there

As long as you miss me too

Boy you can cry all night

Ache until the morning light

As long as you’re lonely baby

Cause lonely’s what I want from you

As long as you feel like I do

Heart broke in two

Missing our kisses

And just can’t wait to

Love you crazy

Boy you make me smile

But until then

As long as you’re lonely baby….yeah

As long as your heart’s just breaking

Hating on the distance

Waiting on the next hit of love to come through

As long as you feel like I do

Heart broke in two

Missing our kisses

And just can’t wait to

Love you crazy,

Boy you make me smile

But until then

As long as our world keeps turning

This keeps hurting

Right now we’re not together

But the fire’s still burning bright

As long as you’re lonely baby

As long as you feel like I do……

Heart broke in two….

As long as you feel like I do

Heart broke in two

Missing our kisses

And just can’t wait to

Love you crazy

Boy you make me smile

But until then

As long as our world keeps turning

This keeps hurting

Right now we’re not together

But the fire’s still burning bright

As long as you’re lonely baby…

MY TURN NOW

You rang just yesterday, said am I still ok

To drive you to the mall, love you girl, that’s all

Like it might be too much

Like helping you was such

A waste of my time and if I couldn’t, that’s just fine

But I don’t say I’ll help you ‘less I mean it

It’s not like you could mean any more to me

Cos, it’s my turn now, gonna pay you back somehow

Wanna do right for you, like you done right for me

It’s gonna be my turn now, the circle’s come around

Now I’m the girl you taught me to be

So you don’t have to worry, cos’ it’s my turn now

Time and a coffee cup

Sometimes it means so much

It’s the least that I can do, to make it up to you

Cos I still remember when, I needed you back then

Didn’t have to ask twice, no trouble, day or night

So if you need a helping hand I’ll be it

Not like you can mean, any more to me

Cos, it’s my turn now

Gonna pay you back somehow

Wanna do right for you, like you done right for me

It’s my turn now

The circle’s come around

Now I’m the girl you taught me to be

So you don’t have to worry, cos’ it’s my turn now

To pick you up, to keep you strong and

To let you know that, you’re not alone and

I promised then, I mean it now

I’ll be there for you

Cos, it’s my turn now

Gonna pay you back somehow

Wanna do right for you, like you done right for me

It’s gonna be my turn now, the circle’s come around

Now I’m the girl you taught me to be

So you don’t have to worry

I ain’t in no hurry, cos it’s my turn now

My turn now….It’s gonna be my turn now

MY BAD

He's my bad

He's my good

He's my who I really shouldn't be thinkin’ about

He’s my do….and my don’t

He’s my maybe I will…or maybe I won’t

He's my smile in the dark when I oughta be sleeping

Put my toes in the water now I'm way too deep in...

My bad

Yeah, he's my bad

Mmmmm…my bad

He’s my bad

He’s my wrong

He’s my right

He’s the secret I keep hidden under my sheets at night

Got me done

Got me cooked

I try to wriggle free

But I’m too damn hooked

The way he looks so mmm…when he's standing there

He just ain't playing fair

He's my bad

Ooh mama

He’s my bad

Yeah my bad

He’s my truth

And my dare

He’s the one I wanna mess with and I don’t care where

He’s my yes

Can’t say no

My head says stop but my body says go

He’s a heartbreaker, soul-shaker, messin’ me up

I just can’t get enough

Of my bad

Ooh he’s my bad

Yeah, my bad

My bad

LOST LITTLE GIRL

She’s walking by the river

Trying to find her way back home

Trying to remember

Never feeling so alone

Starlight shines so bright

But she can’t find the light

Anywhere…

Sometimes it’s a heart break

Sometimes it’s a rainy day

Sometimes it’s the waking up

That makes her feel this way

And there’s nothing like regret

To make a girl forget

How to play…

Lost little girl

In her lost little world

Don’t you see?

And time it just passes by

Her heart

Never satisfied

Lost little girl

Maybe you can guide her

Maybe you could take her hand

And if you say it loud enough

Maybe she’ll understand

That it’s all for the best

Forgetting what was left

Along the way…

Lost little girl

In her lost little world

Don’t you see?

And time cannot

Pacify a heart

Never satisfied

Lost little girl

Lost little girl

In her lost little world

Don’t you see?

And time it just passes by

Her heart

Never satisfied

Lost little girl

TWO GIRL TOWN

I got me a call and it set me free

From the lyin and the cheatin

You’ve been puttin on me

She opened my eyes to your cold dark heart

Said we’d both been fooled from the get-go start

We were sharing a man yeah that’s what she said

Hell it knocked me right upside my head

It’s a cold hard fact if the truth be known

That you’re gonna get to reap all the seeds you’ve sewn

Cos you ain’t worth my time of day

And it sure feels good to set you on your way

I’ve got my pride I won’t be messed around

Won’t be a one man woman in your two girl town

I got my faults they ain’t nothin on you

Just another fool girl who thought your love was true

Thanks for the memories

Most of them were fun

Now it’s gonna be a blast to watch your world come undone

Cos you ain’t worth my waste of time

It hurt for a minute now I feel just fine

You messed me up and now you’re going down

Won’t be a one man woman in your two girl town

Cos you ain’t worth my time of day

And it sure feels good to set you on your way

I’ve got my pride I won’t be messed around

Won’t be a one man woman in your two girl town

No one man woman in your two girl town

SHE'S STILL HERE

Thinking back about her, I never understood

How she could see the best in me

When no one ever could

She said life it is a journey

And love’s an uphill climb

But if you keep your heart wide open

It’ll all be worth the while

Sittin in her chair the way she used to

And she’s still here, memories everywhere

She’s still here

In every room I hear her words so loud so clear

Calling in the voice I hold so dear

She’s still here

Tending to the flowers she planted long ago

I swear I hear her footsteps walking slowly down the hall

Where the wall still holds the painting of her in her favourite chair

And if I close my eyes it’s like she’s almost there

Sittin in her chair the way she used to

And she’s still here, memories everywhere

She’s still here

In every room I hear  her voice so loud so clear

Calling in the voice I hold so dear

She’s still here

She’s still here, memories everywhere

She’s still here, in every room I hear her words so loud so clear

Calling in the voice I hold so dear

And she’s still here memories everywhere

She’s still here

In every room I hear her words so loud so clear

Calling in the voice I hold so dear

She’s still here
